To form its core design team, Adaptive has gathered a group of young, technically excellent, and creative hardware and software engineers. Adaptive designers hold either a Bachelor or Master level degree in engineering or a related science, and all have demonstrated a track record of design success before joining Adaptive. Adaptive Micro-Ware is led by founder and president Robert "Bob" Kniskern and vice president Tom Skillicorn.
Robert Kniskern
Since co-founding the company in 1980, Bob Kniskern has led Adaptive Micro-Ware, Inc. to acknowledged success as an inventive creator of advanced technology.A technologist, Mr. Kniskern holds a BA in Physics from Wabash College. He is named as inventor on three U.S. patents, currently has three more patent applications pending, and is the architect of numerous multi-product systems. Such as:
- A high performance SCSI file server.
- A fiber optic distributed digital / analog industrial control network.
- An eighty-channel direct broadcast satellite system.
- A broadband network switched digital video system.
- A wireless spectrum broadband transport product line.
- A system of in-plane and ground station avionics, telemetry, and wireless digital data link for unmanned aircraft.
Bob Kniskern has served as an expert witness in regard to digital video set-top boxes, graphical user interfaces, and digital rights management. He has served as due diligence consultant to various technology companies. He has also served as CTO for several entrepreneurs and is currently on the Board of Directors of MemoryLink, Inc.
Mr. Kniskern has spoken at numerous conferences on many topics, including telecommunications trends, digital broadband satellite deployment, ATM and IP switching, and multimedia delivery systems. In recent years, he was appointed co-chair of the City of Fort Wayne’s Broadband Initiative by Mayor Graham Richard and helped form the city's first “iTeam”, an innovation group mobilized to leverage broadband technology to improve internet literacy. He participates on the Business Advisory Council of IPFW University’s School of Business and Management Sciences. The community has acknowledged Mr. Kniskern’s leadership several times.

Tom Skillicorn is a seasoned operations and financial management executive. He has spearheaded business development for Adaptive’s wireless communication product expansion strategy. He has secured initial sales, established distribution channels, and arranged market research field tests for these three new products:
